I am currently running a i5 760 @3.7 ghz and a 560ti and a 2560x1440 monitor. The 1gb VRAM of the 560ti simply isn't enough to play modern games at a 2560x1440 resolution. I was thinking about upgrading to a gtx 770 4gb, but i am concerned whether the i5 760 would bottleneck the gpu. would a cpu upgrade to possibly a i5 4670k be necessary to get everything out of the gtx 770?

Get a 3gb 7970 ghz instead of a 4gb 770 3gb is more than enough

The problem with that is the fact that a 7970 GHZ would only cost about 30€ less than a 770 4gb. I believe that with the new consoles having up to 8gb of VRAM, games in the future will be using more VRAM.

the 8gb vram thing is the ps4 using those 8gb for the GPU and as "regular" ram the used vram mostly depends on the resoulution (but there are other factors too)

And the pricing thing is not like that where i live
