I am building my first computer and I got stuck. Both the gtx 970 and r9 390 are the same price and seem to perform about the same. So... Which is better? The r9 has 8gb of ram vs 4 (3.5) gb but I have heard nvidia has better drivers. Is it better to get the r9 390 in the long run because its a newer card or still go for the 970? Any reply would be awesome!

($800 BUILD budget full tower)

970 all the way :) lower heat output, lower power consumptions, better performance in games (1080p and below).
