GPU Upgrade

Go to solution Solved by grayperview,

Value for money wise, get another 660 (£150) you will be able to run 99% of game on max settings at 60fps for the foreseeable future,

Don't bother with a 780, complete waste of money (£550 is an obscene amount of money for a graphics card and it can't even max out crysis 3 60fps) , this time next year there will be a card out that run around the same at two thirds the price.

Maybe AMD's new offering will be considerably cheaper too?

It depends what games you play/are going to play and at what resolution. If you're playing at 1080p and want to play games like Crysis and other future games that are going to be demanding GPU wise, then yes you are going to want to upgrade to something like a 760 or a 770. If you play at 720p and play less demanding games, then no, you don't really need to upgrade anything. Hoped this helped in some way.

I don't think for now at least, it's not the best card ever, but can hold up for now, if you want better graphics or frames you can upgrade of course, just depends on your budget.

You can't really tell now since alot of next gen games are coming out, so for now it can be good the next day once we see min requirements for games like watch dogs etc, it might not run games so well.

:/

Get a 780 its like a 5% difference in frames. The titan is too overpriced for what it gives.

The Titan isn't JUST a gaming card, people don't seem to understand that.

Well it's not a gaming card but it still is the best performing (single GPU) card in games. Making it a great choice for content creators that are also enthusiast gamers. If you're only gaming obviously a titan doesn't make sense, but people give it a lot of crap because all they look at are the gaming benchmarks compared to the 780.

id just chill around and wait. or if you have the money just buy something really high end. otherwise there isn't a real reason to upgrade right now.

Finally, someone who realizes this! If your buying a Titan just for gaming, then yes, it's a waste of money. The thing is, that's not where it really shines. It shines in 3D work, CAD, Cuda supported applications. It shines in professional work.
