Should I stay on Ivy Bridge, or upgrade to Haswell?

I posted the 1 star reviews, complete with all of the problems found   ;)

Okay, I see now.

I'm kind of in the same boat as OP.  I currently have the 2500k @4.4, if Skylake doesn't bring substantial improvement  to the table then why wait for it?  Then again I want native usb C support.

sigh!!   decisions...decisions.

What games are you trying to run, and what resolution, quality, and frames are you trying to achieve?

If you're set on a fast quad core, then how much does the 4690 ordinarily cost? If it's much cheaper than usual, I'd spring for that and a new motherboard.

I want to be able to run 4k games maxed out or near to it.   I currently have a gtx 670 SC 4gb edition which is old by today's standards.  My next upgrade that is if I can force myself to wait that long is for nvidia's Pascal which should theoretically have enough power/vram to run 4k games.
