So It's like the Title says, system gets postcode AF when I try to turn it on, if I recall correctly this is for a "boot load error" or some jazz like that.

Any idea what could cause this? I tried disconnecting everything RAM cables GPU etc. and  reconnecting, that evidently did not work.

Do not  as I  do, and  not  as I say. Instead do as you may..

Your motherboard has a manual, in the table of contents there's a thing that says debug code or something along those lines.

In that chapter there will be explanations of all the post codes

I'm aware, I'll check it again but from what I recall it just says something along the lines of "Boot check error" or something like that, not exactly helpful in determining said error and how to rectify it.

Exit boot services event, still not clear on the cause though.

(I need to put my manuals in easier to remember  places in the future.)

1. Remove everything and disconnect everything from your motherboard.
2. Take out the battery.
3. Wait for 5 minutes.
4. Put the battery back into place.
5. Insert your CPU and the stock heatsink.
6. Insert one stick of RAM (The Gskill preferably) into the DIMM_D1 slot.
7. Insert your GPU.
8. Connect only the power cables to your motherboard (24pin and 8 pin) and to your GPU.
9. Power on the motherboard using the Power on switch.

(if theres a bios reset jumper/pin...use that as well to hard reset the bios)

If you need remote help fixing something on your computer

I can help over Teamviewer if you wish

Ok, finally found the time to tear the sucker down, and all that jazz.

Result remains the same, though I just noticed there's an LED glowing red that I don't believe did so when it was turning on correctly, text on the board reads cpu led... I don't have another x99 board I could test the cpu with.

Not sure what else I could do at this point beyond contacting Asus about it and seeing what they have to say.
