Yes you need drivers.

Press WindowsKey + R to open the run window. Type 'devmgmt.msc' to go to device manager. If you see a bunch of items with yellow exclamation marks, those are things without proper drivers. But yes, you should definitely get all the recommended drivers from the Asus website.

How do I update these if I can't connect to the internet because of out of date drivers?

You just use a different computer. An out-of-date driver most likely wouldn't keep you from accessing the internet, by the way. The only way that would happen is if there was no driver installed for the network card/wireless card (likely after a fresh windows install).
