Sapphire vs. MSI

I decided to get R9 390.

 

Should I get MSI Gaming or Sapphire NITRO OC?

Is there reason to get one over the another?

 

MSI is 5% more expensive.

I'm not. I have no inclination towards any of those brands. I'm just trying to find out is there a reason to buy one over the another.

I wouldnt blanket statement that. Plus you have to consider if its a custom PBC. There is a whole mess of things you have to consider. Sapphire does have a better cooling system when they use it on cards. Just like EVGA they dont always put thier best coolers on. Sometimes you get cheaper ones depending on what version you buy. 

 

They are going to perform roughly the same. Buy the brand you trust more or buy the one thats prettier. Personally I have purchased many MSI cards and havent been disappointed and the one sapphire card my friend had died by overheating but that was 2 years ago. This is probably just unlucky and its just my experience as a whole so take it as you will.

You said that graphics cards are what sapphire does best. Not saying they don't produce good cards, just saying that just because its what they do best doesn't mean they do it well. They could (they aren't) be just terrible overall but its the best terrible they do.

But Sapphire makes great cards! Yet MSI makes good to but I have not seen a better model than Twin Frozr and we all know Tri-X beat last Twin Frozr.

I know sapphire makes great cards otherwise they couldn't stay in business. I'm just saying there was a flaw in your logic. Just because something is the best you do doesn't mean its good just that it is the best you can do.

I personally would go MSI. They're the only brand I've ever owned and I've never had problems or complaints on any of them.

IMO Sapphire's card is better but I'd have a bit more faith in MSI's customer support (in the event of needing RMA or something) since MSI is a bigger company

Canadian Government apparently. Yeah theres no such thing as "good price" up here. my 760 back when it was new was 350 bucks.
