I'm going to buy a T Mobile G3 for $75 from a lady I met on OfferUp. Isn't the G3 still a fairly new phone? I have one but I was wondering because the only reason I plan to buy it is to resell it and make a profit.

It is fairly new, not the newest, but pretty new. The fact that its $75 is concerning, I have to wonder whats wrong with it.

If you mean the LG G3, then yeah it's worth a lot more then that. But if it's somebody who doesn't know anything about phones, that could probably be why it's so cheap. I once bought a Galaxy Alpha for $50 from an old guy who got it for free when renewing his contract but couldn't figure out how to use a smartphone and wanted to stick to his flip phone instead.

(Seriously, he was annoyed by the fact that he has to swipe to unlock, then click the phone app to dial a number, rather then just being able to do just flip it open and start dialing)

"Rawr XD"

She said it's like new. If I look at it and I don't like the condition, I won't get it.

Make sure it has a clean ESN too, I have seen too many people sell phones with bad ESN's recently. You can check this by putting your sim in the phone and making sure that calling/data works.

It's a T Mobile phone. I don't have a T Mobile sim card.

Hmm, I personally would get a prepaid sim and use the "pay by the day" plan just to test the phone(the day would only cost $2-3), because phones with bad ESN's are only worth the parts, which would defeat the purpose of buying it in the first place. The phone could have a clean ESN and the seller could just be uneducated like what Aniallation  said, but I have seen a lot of  bad ESN T-Mobile phones recently(been looking around for a device to screw around with lol).

What kind of sim would that be?

I'm not sure exactly since my only experience with T-Mobile prepaid is their $30 kit at WalMart, but I'm pretty sure that any T-Mobile sim will work. It just has to be an activated sim so that you can make a phone call.

But where do I get the phone number from?

When you activate the sim(online or over the phone). If you have a T-Mobile store nearby, you can tell them your situation and they will hook you up with a prepaid sim, just it will cost some $$ for the sim and however many days of service you want.

Alternatively you can contact the seller, they should be able to give you the IMEI/MEID and you can use a online website to verify it(it would be better to check it in store if possible), this would save you from buying a sim and service. If the seller doesn't give you the IMEI/MEID, then assume its stolen/blacklisted lol.

An LG G3 for $75 seems too good to be true.

I'd personally go have a look. $75 is too cheap.

They don't have a battery for it but I do so I'm going to bring one that I have.

A few friends of mine got a G3 from Craigslist for around $300.

And they're completely fine. $300 wouldn't raise much eyebrows, but $75 will and I personally would ask the seller for the IMEI and serial number of the device just to make sure it isn't stolen or fake.

If the seller refuses to give them out, then I suggest you back off the deal.
