Just get a bigger single SSD, the performance of RAID 0 or whatever you are doing won't be noticeable unless you are planning to install different things on each SSD. If you are gaming then stick with the 4670K, and 8Gb as well. If you are editing and whatnot I suggest you start with 16Gb. Also I would suggest you get the Gigabyte Windforce, MSI Twin Frozr, or ASUS Direct CUII cooler for the GTX 780. The lower the temps the more often and consistently it will boost. YOu also need a power supply, a good 750w will be able to handle two 780s perfectly.

you guys don't think that Raid 0 is worth it? as for the RAM i was going to use Fancy Cache and have a 20 gig Ram Cache. (also allowing write caching to the SSD and using the SSD as a L2 Cache for Fancy Cache)

I do some video stuff/trans coding/etc.  hence the 4770.

I have everything backed up over to a NAS on Gigabit, and honestly if a SSD fails I wont lose any mission critical stuff anyway.

right now I run 5xWD black 640 in raid 0

Raid 0 can be potentially slower than a single ssd.

OK anyone for OS?  Should I go windows 7 or 8?  I'm tempted to go 8

8 is better. Get it unless you don't prefer the interface.

Why the Gryphon vs the maximus gene?

It's cheaper. Better question: Why the maximus gene over some cheaper motherboard?

Fyi, the gryphon is basically the matx sabertooth and is a quality board. It's a shame so many people just choose the most expensive items because they're 'good' and they don't know why.

Doesn't the Gene have better audio though. That's my thinking. No room for audio card

If the audio is that important to you, get it.

It's not like the Gryphon has crap audio though.
