Is a single 360 rad enough?

Go to solution Solved by 1Scotty1,

Technically, a single 120mm rad for a single component should be enough, so a single 360 should suffice for a CPU+GPU combo :)

I had a single 360 cooling my 8350 and 670 FTW both oc'ed to the max. It cooled them fine. I wanted better temps and a quieter system so I added a 80 mm thick 360 rad to the loop. Now temps are great and I can run the fans so low you can't hear them.

Basically what you're saying is 360+240>360? That makes a lot of sense

Actually both rads are 360 mm so 360x2> 360

I was just offering anecdotal evidence. For my tastes a single 360 worked but not well enough for me.

Oh,alright. I feel like the single 360 might work but the fans would have to ramp up some times and also the temps would be on the high side occasionally. I will probably just add a 240 to it just to be on the safe side

1 360mm rad would work, if you want to add the 240 sure it won't hurt to have more, except your wallet.
