Hey guys, I'm coming here cause I'm really confused on my way to go with these new builds. First, I'm from Argentina so everything is awfully overpriced here... the good thing is that I have a friend living up there in Toronto and is able to bring me the parts for my new pc. I currently have a "red team" pc but I'm thinking of changing into the "blue-green". My idea is that I'll try to go for a i7-4790k or i5-4690k and a 980Ti single card. Any suggestions on mobo and memory? (I would like 2 sticks of 8gb each if possible) Should I go for 2 4gb 970 instead of a single 980Ti? 250gb SSD?(currently planning on grabbing a Samsung 850 EVO). Also, my friend doesn't come here until November so, should I wait and go for ddr4 or buy now (before something blows up here and the dollar sky rockets) and stick with ddr3? Budget? Give or take U$S 2.000 the lower it goes, the better :P Thank you.

P.S: PSU and Case are out of this budget cause I'll buy them here, unfortunately, for both the price and the horribly limited offer in cases.

EDIT: Also, suggestions on where to buy this online? I've been scouting NCIX Canada and Amazon.ca.

good luck passing it though customs

980ti is better

a z97 mobo will do the job greatly

corsair, hyper x, g-skill and crucial are good options for memory

Case: NZXT phantom CPU:I5-4460 GPU:MSI-GTX1070 Gaming X RAM:2x4Gb-DDR3-HyperX fury MOBO:Asus Z97-P HDD:Toshiba 1Tb 7200rpm PSU:Sentey650W

pls prefer every time a single card over a sli, sli (maybe) comes with micro stutters, shared memory (in this case only 3.5gb), non optimized games and so on).

i5-4690k is good for gaming, 4790k is overkill.

in a view minutes i can give u a build

Welcome to the forum.

are you only gaming with this?

what monitor you'll be using with this pc?

Just gaming. Can't stream with my connection and I'm too lazy for video editing :P My current monitor is a "24 Samsung Full HD and sticking with it until I save for a better one.

the 980ti / 4790k / 16gb of ram will be a waste then

So, your suggestion would be to buy a U$S1.000 4k monitor (that is the price here for the cheapest) and then save for my pc? The idea is to upgrade and buy the monitor in maybe 5 months if possible. Why would I buy a 4k monitor if my current setup can't achieve maxing out every game on 1080p? Maybe de 4790K is a waste, true. The 16gb of ram are for the reason that I also use my computer for work and frequently I have at least one vm running on it.
