steam validating

does anyone know how i can stop steam validating files every time i open steam? I've tried deleting local data and re install games but still no luck any you guys know what else to try?

There may be something wrong with your steam install itself, Have you tried re-installing steam not just the game(s) that are being validated?

This question might also be best asked on the steam support forums.

Are all your games needing to be validated at launch?

yeah all my games validate before i can play them i have tried reinstalling steam could it be because its not on the C: drive?

I have a solution:

Exit Steam and go to the folder called C:\Program Files\Steam\ (this is the default location for a Steam installation - if you set a different installation directory, you will need to browse to it).

Delete all of the files in this folder except:

- \Steamapps\ and \Userdata\ folders

- Steam.exe (this file is listed as an application and features the black and white Steam logo)

Restart your computer.

Then, you will need to launch Steam.exe from within the Steam installation folder, and not from a pre-existing shortcut.

With Steam running, re-test the original issue.

Note: This process will not affect your currently installed games.
