An issue has been coming up AGAIN recently where I would pick up the phone and I can't hear the other person and I have to restart my phone.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Moto G 2014 / O2 / Lollipop

I have come to the conclusion that you own an Android phone, only on an android phone this type of shit happens...

Very true but shhhhhhhh don't let iOS fans see

Not a fan of any OS. It's just that Android works fine on a device, until you update it, then you get 10k bugs. Trust someone that has been on Android since 2009 and is fed up with it. But I don't like iOS either so...

Anyway, back on topic. This started happening since you updated? Or only recently? I've seen this problem on the LG L9 II on Android 4.4. It had something to do with the latest version of Viber believe it or not. As soon as we removed it from the phone it worked fine. Mind testing out my theory about Viber? Remove it and test for 24h. :)

It went away last time but it came back after I factory reset it

No I do not use it

I don't know whether it would be worth it but you could maybe install a rom, not entirely sure what rom tho, if there's a cyanogenmod version for your phone get that as I can personally vouch for that.

I have no ideas how to do that flashing stuff and I don't plan on bricking lol

That's weird. Any other apps that require access to the phone(calls)?

WhatsApp I guess? Worked fine before.

CM is really safe, there is a slim chance of bricking it. Just follow the instructions.

But before that. Would you mind removing whatsapp for a day and checking if it solves the issue? I'm curious and if it's not too much of a bother for you I'd like to hear if that fixes it. This seems to be a problem across quite a few Android devices. And as I mentioned before, uninstalling Viber fixed it on my friends phone. :)

I use whatsapp too much so that is not an option

And how often does the issue happen? Once a day? Few times?

Not sure as I don't get a lot of phone calls.

Generally every phone call.

That's a serious issue then... Well I suggest one of two things:

1) Get rid of whatsapp for at least an hour or two and test my theory out- if it proves I'm right, install an older version of whatsapp until the mentioned issue is fixed

2) Wait for an OS update to fix it

I can't really think of anything else. Good luck! :)
