Hi all, getting a really weird problem with a EVGA 980 Ti superclocked I just got with my new rig:

Intel Haswell-e 5820k, 16GB G.skill Ripjaw 4 RAM, 2 x Samsung Evo 850 500GB SSDs in RAID 0, Asus X99-A motherboard, Corsair H110i GT liquid cooler, EVGA 850W Supernova G2 PSU, Silent Base 800 case, Windows 7 premium Service Pack 1, BenQ XL2411Z 144hz 1080p monitor

The install went fiine, all the hardware is "working" except the 980 Ti is behaving really odd when I try update the drivers. Stock windows VGA drivers allow me to sit in windows fine but at only 800x600 which is fine, but if I install NVidia drivers and restart, windows boots, does the "usual" yellow loading bar (I have yet to get the usual spinning orb things after many restarts) then I get some very strange horiztontal white lines of varying thickness (per line) that go all the way across the screen. (they're not like usual artifacts, it seems more like a static image - working on geting a pic - no hosting or logins atm)

I then lose graphics signal, the PC reboots and asks if I want to go into safe mode etc (where I can uninstall the drivers back to go back to stock VGA at 800x600) The Nvidia drivers look installed in Safe mode. I'm trying to rule out this isn't hardware. I can't help think it's software related or a BIOS setting)

The only BIOS things I've had to change are CSM settings to get the RAID 0 drives bootable, so I've been troubleshooting that route. Read some things regarding 'secure boot' but I think that's a red herring.

Sorry for the wall of text and sloppy wording and lack of picture but I'm in a bit of a rush (can we host images here - would happily email someone the pic if they could host it for me for others to see)

I really hope this is software or BIOS related. I want to try everything before I send it back. PHEW. I hope some of you made it to the end. any help appreciated thanks!"

EDIT: managed to upload the picture. It's not like usual artifacts which makes me think this could still be software before you all shout faulty card, fingers crossed

Not sure, but I would say it's software related as the Windows drivers work.

Unplug your internet and disable all anti virus' , anti malware programs. Practically everything in your task bar THEN install the drivers manually. None of this Geforce Experience crap. Then restart.

It's not a race to the bottom.

UPDATE:Looks like a hardware fault :( Ran the card in a barebones older system.. had minior artifacts on Windows boot logo with VGA drivers and major artifacts at the usual place after installing nvidia's, only this time I could see the windows logo but it was much more serious. Unless anyone can think of anything it's going back to EVGA. cable maybe? I hope they see it for what it is and replace it without a fuss. Has anyone had a similar issue with EVGA and their returns policy? Any tips before I RMA welcome because this has never happened to me before :(
