If you are going to get the most expensive CPU for the socket why would you cheap out on the motherboard?

 My Buyer’s Guide!

If you are going to get the most expensive CPU for the socket why would you cheap out on the motherboard?

 

Because he don't need or want the features of the more expensive boards and performance has shown to be within the margin of error from board to board?

Sure, But I rather go with the i5 4690k - Z97 way, instead of the i7 4790k and the H81 way. 

Not to mention he has 16GB of RAM and a 4GB VRAM card, which im going to assume is a GTX 970 and above.

Shush. It actually has 4GB, just that the 0.5 GB is slower than the other 3.5 GB. Also I said "and above".

But he said that he had a 4GB card. As long as 4-Actual-GB Card is in there, its fine. :D

If I had 4x4GB of RAM and only 1 stick is working (In the 970 all are *cough* actually working *cough*) but all 4 sticks are plugged in, its still 16GB. :D

Why would you buy the most expensive 1150 CPU and get the cheapest motherboard for it?

 

Because CPU impacts performance a lot and motherboard doesn't at all?

i7 4790K || R9 290X + R9 290 || 16GB G.Skill TridentX 1866 || Gigabyte Z97MX Gaming 5 || Crucial MX100 256GB || WD Caviar Blue 1TB
