I use a MSI B85M E45. It's cheap, holds ANY haswell CPU, and does everything you need. It's Matx, so it fits anywhere (almost) and sports USB 3.0

CPU: INTEL Core i7 4790k @ 4.7Ghz - Cooling: NZXT Kraken X61 - Mobo: Gigabyte Z97X SLI - RAM: 16GB G.Skill Ares 2400mhz - GPU: AMD Sapphire Nitro R9 Fury 4G - Case: Phanteks P350X - PSU: EVGA 750GQ - Storage: WD Black 1TB - Fans: 2x Noctua NF-P14s (Push) / 2x Corsair AF140 (Pull) / 3x Corsair AF120 (Exhaust) - Keyboard: Corsair K70 Cherry MX Red - Mouse: Razer Deathadder Chroma

Bit of an AMD fan I suppose. I don't bias my replies to anything however, I just prefer AMD and their products. Buy whatever the H*CK you want.

Doesn't really matter. If mobos are costly, go for H81. You won't notice the performance difference, and you don't need 9 series for a 4440 as it's a non-refresh chip

That works.  Any H81/B85 is fine.  If your case has USB 3.0 on the front, you want to try for a motherboard that has a USB 3.0 header.

PC partpicker says it needs BIOS update before using that CPU ... Should i be worried ?

PCPP does not say that.  The 4440 is a Haswell release.  ANY 1150 socket is compatible.  The 4460 is a Haswell Refresh, maybe you have that selected.
