1500$ for a PC?

Go to solution Solved by OfficialJsP,

Swap the i7 to i5 get an SSD

he said he will be streaming an i7 would be a better option for that

really??????   i was told maybe 6 months to a year tops.   i guess for 2 years+  is worth it for me.  thanks for the help

lol yeah it will last a LOT!!! longer than a year my rig is almost 3 years old and doing great

Hello, im new to PC gaming and i am getting my first pc to build in the next following weeks.  However, coming down to the final days before getting the new pc, i started realizing that 1500$ is an awful lot of money for mainly gaming, by mainly i mean with the possible chance of streaming.  My main question is, is 1500$ really worth it considering i might have to upgrade soon enough just for gaming?

(here is the link for the build, but dont try to change it or make it cheaper, for the extra 100$ or 200$ for a better product, i will be fine with it, so dont try to change this up http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/3Qc3Q7 ) remember that the main question is if it is worth the 1500$.

Also, if this is the wrong forum to ask this in, please move it.  Thanks :D

just another question, how much do you think i will have to upgrade in the future?  as well as, how much will those upgrades be? (i dont expect you you know the exact price of the future upgrades, but try to estimate it if you can.)

That's super hard to say since games are changing so fast and it depends on what settings you want to run them at but a GPU upgrade from what ever series of cards are out at the time should be fine so around $250-400 depending on the GPU ofc.

0$ if you don't care turning down a couple of graphics settings

but how low will they be to start with?  as in if im running ultra no problem, turning to very high/high will be fine.  but if im at high to start with, then med/low or even low is not good for me.

i would say a dac maybe for audio (100$ - 200$) and a gpu (300$ - 500$) but that would be for over 4 - 5 years

Up until late 2014 I was running on a phenom II and a gtx 260, nearly 7 years with the same rig and only late 2014 and 2015 titles were no longer playable. Your system is comparably stronger than this already so at most you won't be able to jump into 4k and such but you'll game for way more than 2 years just fine
