Hey guys. I was wondering if anyone can recommend a desktop wireless card for my gaming rig. I can't take time off of work for a couple months and I'm in the process of building my system. Is it worth it to look for a wireless card, or should I wait to try to get a tech to come to my house and fix the wiring for this outlet? I have a MSI Z97 gaming mobo at the moment. Thanks in advance.

Ethernet is allways better than wireless.

But when the tech is very expensive and / or you have to wait long, you can buy a wireless card.

I use this TP-Link and, during good hours of the day, I get ethernet speeds. So wireless isn't always a failure.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

I'm not sure how much they would charge to bring out a tech, I assume around $50 to $100, but it'll be a while before my build is complete anyway. Mine as well save up for that also and get another router for this room I guess.

Dang thats like daylight robbery right there :o jk :) Thats expensive for the plug though. All you need is a wiring diagram and the tools and you can do it yourself :)

I'd go with the ethernet cable, because then if anythings wrong, you can know its either with the router or the wire.

I use the same card and get 50mb/s down 25mb/s up which is exactly what we pay for  :D and I'm on the other side of the house as the router :3

A wireless card will be cheaper, but a finctional wireing will add value to the room.

EDIT: But the card will add value to the PC ;)

Yeah, I have comcast. When I got the service, they tried to charge me for having a tech to fix the wires that the previous tech was supposed to fix but didn't. I want to say they tacked like a $50 charge on my bill for it, but took it off when I tlaked to them about it.
