So in a previous post, I stated that my EVGA SuperNOVA NEX650W made this grinding sound. After a day or so of research I've narrowed down the causes.

Sounds like a clicking/grinding sound. I could describe it as a 'light' sound. Not very loud, but it's noticeable with the side panels on. The sound doesn't seem to be affected with the load in any way, because AIDA64 stress testing doesn't really change anything. System and temperatures look stable; no lockups or random shutdowns.

I have literally no idea why it's happening. I know that there are better PSUs out there but in Dubai I could get (for a non rip-off price) a:

My PSU

Corsair RM650

Corsair HX850/1000i

EVGA 1300G2

and nothing else. Nada. Wasn't gonna splash $250 on the HX850i (this is considered a good price here) so I went for this and my fears have come true.

If anyone has any suggestions on the thing that could be causing the sound, please tell me. I'd rather not replace my PSU.

My build: tis be ordered
