hey there!

I'm really into dslr's and stuff. So my dad has a D200 (Nikon) and i got a 600D (Canon) and because he is a pretty expirienced photographer

he has a lot of nice lenses, what leads me to the conclusion, that my next camera will be a Nikon 3200-7100. But because I'm a student,

im saving up since 1 year now and current state is 400$. So i thought if there was a set of 2 Cameras, like a D7100 & D3300 for under 1000$

that would be awesome! so do you have more experience in buying cams and you know something about kits of 2 cameras?

Part of me would keep the 600D and instead grab a nice lens or something, instead of a new camera. The 600D is still a VERY solid camera (I use mine with a 17-40mm f/4). But there are also plenty of third party lenses that can be had for a lot less money.

But it's understandable if you want to get a Nikon in order to share your father's equipment. Which is also a very valid option.

I don't know that much about this topic, but what about getting an adapter from the nikon  lenses to the canon ef standard?

I'm pretty shure something like this exists, but i have no idea if it is worth buying in terms of quality and compatibility.

Just an idea...

That would be a option but thoses lenses are not meant for an adapter because of the quality loss you could get. i mean the lenses are some 1000$+ ones.. :(

If your father has a collection of equipment that fits with Nikon (Lenses, flash, etc), and he allows you to use it. Then it would be a solid option to switch over to Nikon. If he doesn't, then it's up in the air if you want to continue using your Canon, or sell it to switch over to Nikon.
