im considering designing and building my own case from scratch, has anyone tried this?

if so what problems did you come across and what was the hardest things to get right?

I think the most annoying part would be the motherboard tray.

see i think making the Rear IO mount would be the hardest part.

yeah, motherboard tray includes that part in my mind.  :lol:

Just get a transfer punch set, one tap with a hammer and you have a mini dent right where you need to drill, then use a tap to thread a hole for a standoff.

or... a sharpie :3

im not planning anything with acrylic panels, i might do a window but its to fit a gaming workstation im planning atm.

Only reason why im looking in to this is cause cases like the 900d are too... much... but i <3 the cosmos 2 but i need cooling :|

Unless you have free access to a plethera of metal working tools, and hours uopn hours of time to kill, its not a good idea to try to make a case thats on the level of the 900D.

I'm getting a caselabs mb tray

good idea... i found a Lian Li PC60 ATX motherboard tray on KustomPcs that would work (Cheaper cause i wont need to ship it from the US)
