Now that I've finished my first build and everything is running great, I'm looking for some peripherals to get the most out of it, espicially in gaming. I'm hoping to pick up a mouse, mouse mat, keyboard and possibly a headset over the next couple of months. The keyboard and headset aren't necessities at the moment, but if you know of any good offers I would be happy to hear them. My main priority at the moment is the mouse and mouse mat. I'm enjoy playing fast paced, competitive FPS games where pinpoint accuracy is vital. I've done a bit of research and I'm currently looking at the Logitech G400, Zowie AM and Zowie EC1 Evo. If anyone has used any of these mouses or has any other suggestions, please leave them as a response

Thanks

Doesn't the sniper button help lower the dpi so you could be more accurate in aiming?

If you want a "Sniper button" just get the deathadder, pristine accuracy with programmable features on the 2 side keys (Yes set it to lower your dpi if you are that bothered), since synapsed is fixed for offline usage it is really good right now.

Aside from the Deathadder, CM Storm Recon, R.A.T. 3 optical and Roccat Savu, the mice you're looking at are the best out there for FPS. You couldn't really go wrong with any of them.
Deathadder 3.5G, Black Edition and 4G all qualify. YMMV as far as the 4G's build quality though (specifically the rubber on the sides). I don't know about the Respawn/3G, but they're probably fine too. I doubt you'll find any models older than that.

"Sniper buton" is a stupidity. It does not lower your sensitivity, it lowers your DPI (CPI). Lowering sensitivity while maintaining DPI to decrease mouse speed would be a good thing for sniping but the other way arround is NOT.

Razer mice do not have a q in quality. Most od fthem are good but easy to break and known for malfunctions.

R.A.T. 3 is a peace of junk. R.A.T.5 is decont though.

Go 4 a Logitech G400 (with PID PZ133... older with PZ122... have mouse prediction). Newer models have flawless senzors.

Or choose something like a CoolerMaster Inferno (claw/fingertip grip) or CoolerMaster Sentinel II/Advance/Advance+ (palm grip).

I went with the G400, but I would also like to get a mouse pad for it. Not really sure what to look for, i.e hard surface, cloth, friction, smooth. Looking to spend no more than £20. Any suggestions?
People here don't seem to have knowledge of mouse pads, me included. I suggest asking OCN.

I much prefer the cloth style; i'm currently using a SteelSeries QCK+ and i love it. It's nice and light for travel, but once on a flat surface, very grippy and it doesn't feel like it's going anywhere. It comes in at under £15 and it's a great buy.

I use vinyl wrap for mousepads. monoprice has a decent soft mousepad also.

a hard mousepad slides too easily for me, but a cloth sticks too much, vinyl is right in between.

Will work for electronic components and parts

I'm a fan of hard mouse-pads... I personally use a Razer Ironclad as I like aluminum mouse-pads, but it's all personal preference. The best is to find an electronics dealer where you can test out mice and mouse-pads and see which ones you like best.

If you prefer a thicker cloth mousepad (imo they are better), Steelseries Qck Mass or Heavy is the way to go.
