So I was playing some Counter Strike: Global Offensive when I noticed that my PC fans were spinning as if the fans were fluctuating in speeds. I also noticed that the map that I was playing on had some slight artifacts in certain areas. As I was concerned I decided to pull up CPU-Id and I looked at the temperature that was reading 93 degrees. I then opened my fan controller and put up the speeds to 100% so that it would cool the PC down a bit more. I have an Athlon II X4 860k. I have overclock it on stock cooler however when I went back into the overclocking software it was at it's original speed (3.7ghz). Is this temperature normal? I had been running the PC for the whole day.

Thanks [emoji102]

After thermal throttling, your CPU dropped it's clock to avoid hitting a dangerous temperature.

Why are you overclocking with the stock cooler?

"It pays to keep an open mind, but not so open your brain falls out." - Carl Sagan.

"I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you" - Edward I. Koch

"I didn't die! I performed a tactical reset!" - Apollolol

The max temp for the x700 series is 74 degrees celsius, I would not recommend you let your processor run that hot.

Either your cooler is mounted inproper, your case is clogged with dust or you're overclocking with absurd high voltage.
