Probably a good idea to go with H97 in case bios isnt flashed newest, saves him haing to return the H81 board

He could flash it via a USB drive if he needs to.

I've built a system with that board and cpu it doesn't need the 97 chipset

I've built a system with that board and cpu it doesn't need the 97 chipset

So have i, but you got lucky and the BIOS was already updated.

Agreed. I'm tired of flashing so many BIOS. I've had to deal with too many X99s...  :P

True i guess wherever it ships from could send a board from back when it was released w/ older bios.

Yeah but the 4gb card doesn't have too much gain for the extra amount plus the i3 is not overclockable.

4 cores is a big help even if two are hyperthreads also the 4gb makes a big difference if you like high textures in GTA V, witcher 3 and any upcoming title besides even tho 4gb is too much 2 gb isn't enough...

im not playing those types of games the most demanding game I'm going to play is maybe battlefront and h1z1.

In that case go back to the 2gb and maybe bump for an i5 as you still can't fit a decent ssd
