I'm using the realtek 8821ae provided with the ASRock h97m-itx/ac

I want some tips from you guys on whether it is overheating..

The WiFi card works like a charm for hours after cold(left off in a cool room for half a day) boot until continuous workload which last about 4 hours until it finally shows up as disabled(and fails to re-enable) in the "Network Adapters" found in "Network and Sharing Center".

A reboot does not help(stay disabled after reboot) but if left turned off for long enough(couple hours) it works(shows as enabled) again.

Its placement might contributes to this

As shown in the picture, the card is right above Intel stock cooler(CPU temp 42C) with very low and often off case fans(since all components with sensors are below my 50C comfort zone).

Do you think my WiFi card is overheating?

If you agree with me that it's indeed a [emoji91]heat[emoji91] problem then I might start strapping some heatsink to it..

Any comments appreciated. Thanks for ideas in advance guys [emoji5]

Update: Full case fan speed did not help, the problem returns after 15 min of heavy usage...

I'm tethering my android watch (Neptune Pine) to it for now..

feel it while running. My USB wifi card gets stupidly hot. I just put an old northbridge heatsink on the back of the PCB with NON CONDUCTIVE THERMAL PASTE

Open the side panel, take a spare fan and let it blow full speed on the card.

When it helps you know it's the heat and we can find a more elegant and silent solution.

But the card is conftable at themepratures on which your finger get burned.

Mineral oil and 40 kg aluminium heat sinks are a perfect combination: 73 cores and a Titan X, Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Oil
