Hey just started following Linus on YouTube and love the very informative videos. Before following I thought I was a gamer with my PS4, HP computer, and retro games. Uh, I'm not shit, and I don't own shit for gaming! Watching the videos make me want to shoot myself in the foot for even buying my HP. I was and I still am completely clueless about building a CPU. Does anyone know of any upgrades I can do to my HP TouchSmart 520? I just would like to see the options I have if any for my HP.

I honestly would like to build a machine that I can connect to my Samsung 60" 4K TV. I want to build a unit I can play and watch on my TV that utilizes the 4K technology.

Any suggestions would be a start for me, and thanks in advance!

I would save up and build your own. Start by searching up how to build a PC, and get familiar with the components. Go on http://pcpartpicker.com/ and select your components.

Don't buy a Fury X...

It doesn't support HDMI 2.0, so you will be limited to 30hz.

If I were you, I wouldnt game on your 4K TV, odds are it will be really high in response time, you'll need a pricey rig to power it, and its really big, like for real where you plan on sitting.

4690K // 212 EVO // Z97-PRO // Vengeance 16GB // GTX 770 GTX 970 // MX100 128GB // Toshiba 1TB // Air 540 // HX650

Logitech G502 RGB // Corsair K65 RGB (MX Red)

I have no idea what to get even if I was to start planning for a build. Was hoping this post would get people to help me out on what I would need to make it. I paid a lot for my TV and there isn't shit for content. That's why I was hoping I could build something that I could use to game and watch movies. I figured a CPU would be the best option for getting the most out of my TV. I wouldn't sit any closer then I would if I was watching a movie in my theater room.

I don't know what what the specs mean for my TV but figured some of you could explain it.

It's a 60" Samsung LED 240hz smart TV. I figured it could run whatever a CPU could throw it's way, but I could be completely wrong
