Hi

I need some help to decide if I should pull the trigger on X99 platform and get a 5820k with a Asus X99-s. I can get 75 euros off the 5820k when getting it with a Asus mobo so the mobo and the cpu would cost me 580 euros. I also could wait for skylake and get the 6700K with a Asus z170-ws motherboard if they release it. The 6700K and the mobo would probably cost 650 euros.

So which route should I go? I now have 3770k with Titan X's. It will be used to purely on gaming. I usually have chrome open with 50+ tabs so 5820k with its extra two cores might help there.

I have custom watercooling so I will be overclocking them quite a bit.

Please share your experiences with 6 core cpus.

Titan X and X99 for gaming, really? What are you up to, 4k? A 980Ti will be a much better buy for gaming and a 4790k has more than enough power to game and have chrome open.

Edit: Oh, you already got the Titan. Wait for Skylake at least.

I got the Titan X's for only 200 euros more than 980ti is selling for so I think It was worth it. I will be getting Dell 5K monitor or IPS Rog Swift.

Titan X for 200 Euros, Nice! Was it used or something? On the monitor, look once at a Dell IPS Panel and you can't go back. They are so pretty.

For gaming X99 ain't really worth it, but if you really can spend the cash, please wait for skylake.

you're all set...that is a VERY powerful CPU you have for gaming, it's overkill...moving to X99 will yield no benefit what so ever.

I meant I have chrome open while I'm playing and I watch youtube videos at the same time. 4k or 1080p 60fps videos need some cpu power.

really not much...even if you had 20 vid playing at the same time this wouldnt overload your 3770K..even if you play crysis 3 at the same time.
