The limit ceiling for that i3 and gaming is kind of low... you might run into problems.  Don't let the benches fool you.

sorry i quoted the wrong person. was suppose to be u.

yeah. but i think a cheaper n200 case with 2 included fans and a slightly beefier 500w psu will do good. Whatcha think?

Plus i think it looks better xD

I had to cut down the PSU for money... works fine with the 270.  The Thermaltake is a good $34 case... $42 with the two extra fans.

IDK, budget is budget.  I just try for the i5 and the best GPU I can squeeze in.  The i5 so there is absolutely no problems running ANY game on the market.

yeah :) but the n200 is bit cheaper and running closer to 50% psu load might save user that couple of bucks in just a month  :) but thats just my opinion.

I think OP is just playing around and doesnt isnt even serious in getting a 500$ pc :)

A little over your budget but it will run ALL and LATEST games, unlike an i3 where games like Far Cry 4 and others wont run.

oh that one. works too i was thinking the 39usd n200 and that 29usd evga 500w above. i think the n200 comes with 3 fans installed.

If you meant this, it is $8 more expensive... before rebates...$13 more if you add the 500W EVGA:

$534

You are underrating the i3. It is still great for gaming. Sure, it will bottleneck high end GPUs, but paired up with a 280 it is a beast.

The 4160 uses multithreading, which makes it about as good as the 4460

For gaming, it will be okay... most of the time.  It is not anywhere near a 4460 if a program calls for mulit-threaded support.

@MrChavelo  Hyper-threading does not add cores.  It prepares data for consumption.  So it is like eating with two hands instead one... you still only have one mouth to feed.  ;)

i5 will still be more useful for longer.

The R9 280 will last much longer than the 270. The 270 is dying, the i3 isn't.. yet.

Whatever you choose, i3 + 280 or i5+ 270, wait for the R9 380 and the R7 370
