I have an old vista machine that I need to get some pictures from, and today I decided to try at it. Unfortunatly, it refuses to take mouse and keyboard input once it reaches the vista log on screen. I have tried USB and PS/2, all these devices working on my main rig and the keyboards work on the BIOS on the old computer. Anyone have any ideas how to fix it?

It is vista, there is not much you can do.

I would recommenced you removed the HDD and put it into your new computer

Will it just work if I plug it in, or do I need to delete the windows files on the drive first?

No, but if it runs off your old PC's hdd change your boot config in your bios to have you new pc's hdd to boot from

No, you access the files via your computer, in "My Computer". You will not be able to boot up with your old HDD.

No, it MAY accidentally boot vista if his old hdd is in say in "Sata 1" and his boot drive is "sata 3"
