So after 1.5 years my iPod Touch 5th Gen decides to randomly die out, meaning the device just shuts off and decides to never turn back on again. I have tried different cables, different USB ports, different wall chargers and it doesn't charge at all or even any screen activity. My home button has been broken/non-funtional for about 2 months and I have been using activator to tweak a 2 second delay on my sleep/power button as my "home" button. Yes it has been jailbroken from when after I first bought it and never had ANY issues with it. I waited 3 days for the battery to drain which is probably not enough, plugged into the wall, no signs of life. I'm assuming the battery inside has no charge left and has died out and the only way to get it repaired is going to a local phone shop for an "apple approved" Lithium-ion battery?

Normally, I'd say go to an Apple Store to have it fixed but seeing that yours is jailbroken, I think it's unlikely that they're gonna fix it.

I normally wouldn't recommend going to a third-party repair store, because some can be a bit shady, but look for a reputable one that has a lot of experience in repairing Apple products.

There is only a 1 year warranty on this device so my only choice is to find a reputable repair shop.
