Hey people of Linus Tech Tips,

I have recently built a cpu with the following specs:

CPU: Intel Celeron G1610

Motherboard: Intel DZ68BC (BIOS updated)

Ram: 2GB of kingston

PSU: Something from 2003 (Working)

HD: Having some issues

When i try and boot to windows from some old laptop and desktop harddrives it gets to the windows loading screen then freezes and blue screens.

I have tried 5 different harddrives now and it happens with all of them.

Any help is appreciated,

Thanks!

Reset CMOS, re-seat everything (RAM, GPU) double-check all your cables and try again.

If it still does not work, try to boot with only one RAM stick inserted, try them individually one by one and find which one is faulty and trow it away.

One question: What is CMOS?

I know, im a bit of a computer noob

I also only have 1 ram stick

Cmos is your bios settings [i think]

It could be your sketchy hdd causing the problems

Happy to help with any tech problems. Windows 10 installing guide here.

well i have multiple hdd that were all working 3 months ago (havnt used them since)

format one of them and re-install a fresh copy of windows on it and it should be good to go.
