Old laptop

My friend has 2 old laptops and he's willing to give me them. One doesn't have a hard drive. Just wondering, what could I do with these laptops without spending extra money (buying a new HDD)? Thanks for any suggestions.

What year are they from ruffly?

If they are before 2005 i think just leave them as they are.

All depends on the specs of the laptop you can do almost anything with them. If they are older laptops you can drop linux on them and go from there, but with out knowing more about the laptops it is hard to say what you can or cannot do.

you can use one as a spare and use its part to bring the other back to life. This largely depend if both arts are compatible with each other though. Since they are old, you might still spend a little cash updating software , OS, etc on them.
