Witcher 3 low FPS

I'm running Witcher 3 on my laptop with an i7-4700MQ and GT 740m with 12 GB RAM. I can run most games at medium to high setting at 720p getting 40-60 fps. But with Witcher, I've turned everything down as low as it can be and I'm still getting 17 fps.

It ran pretty well on my 650tiboost, try turning off hairworks or see what geforce experience makes the settings for you. Also check the system for high temps.

Laptop is as hot as it usually gets, temps aren't the problem

Theres your answer, the game is meant to be played on more high end hardware, the 740M is pretty garbo.

It is trash but Thief for example also has a GTX 660 as minimum requirements and I can play Thief at a pretty good fps

Optimizations maybe? All I know is that Witcher 3 is a very hard to run title, so I wouldnt be surprised if your laptop with mediocre specs wouldnt be able to handle it.

Sure the minimum says GTX 660, but remember, thats minimum.
