So...

Ive been looking at builds but most of them are from the US

when i switched it from Us to Canada ive realized the prices go up!

Im looking for a $700-$800 Canadian build..

I am going to do some video editing (I do youtube and stuff) but mostly gaming

Im going to only run one monitor...

I am not going to overclock and going to play mostly all genre of game except mmos

I really prefer performance over graphics but if you could get something tht could do equally as good with performance and graphics then that would be good

Im trying to get a desktop because i game on a laptop as well as video editing and so it takes forver and it is really frustrating!

I am fully open to all builds and recommendations!

Totally forgot about peripherals and stuff (thnx woodenmaker)

I need a mouse, keyboard and a monitor... as well as windows i guess

What CPU do you like (intel or AMD)

form factor?

this will set your build going if we know what form factor you want and what cpu you want to use.

NCIX is good and quick to ship if you live on the west coast, if you live on the east its also good and also look at Tiger direct.

we would be more than welcome to help you chose an ideal build for your Canadian dollars :)

got to love Asus components

Form factor is the size of your 'stuff'.

I'm thinking he means what sized case you want: itx, micro, mid, full, etc.

As for my original question: Do you need a copy of Windows? What about peripherals?

A bit over the budget but the alternative would take away a lot of upgrade potential: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/1kGNF

Crossfire ready.

I have a question if u dont mind whats the difference between 1gb and 2gb and 3gb versions of graphics card?

About the form factor will determain what size motherboard and case you would need. and for an AMD setup normally micro ATX are hard to get a good board so i would recommend Intel for small form factor and ATX for AMD build.

1gb, 2gb or 3gb version graphics cards mean the amount of onboard memory on the graphics card itself. basically the more the better if you can afford a 2 gig card your doing well.

If you need everything all in for $800 then it would be a pretty low spec computer, if your mainly gaming you would be better of with a PS3 / PS4 for that kinda budget and then buy a reconditioned laptop for utube and stuff.

It can be done if you want a cheap build and i understand everyone has different budgets,

i would say an AMD system would be just slightly cheaper to build than an intel system.

That is vram. The more vram you have, the more high textures and resolutions you can run. 1GB used to be enough and the standard for 1080p. It's becoming 2GB now.

The 7850 is still plenty fast with 1GB of vram and can play most games on high/ultra.

Stock will be fine if you're not overclocking. You can get a Hyper 212 Evo later on if you want to overclock.

Drop down to a 660/7870 and upgrade to 16GB of ram

Change out the GTX 760 to an HD 7950, but if you refuse to overclock, the GTX 760 seems to be favored

I gave you 20 bucks for a keyboard+mouse which is I just recommend getting a cheap setup from the local shops for now.

At 1080p, yes. At higher resolutions and games that use a lot of vram, no.

You should be overclocking your gpu anyway. It's REALLY easy.
