Build Challenge.

My Challenge To You: Design (Using PC Part Picker) The best build possible. Read below before you go off on your hunt for parts, because there are some specifications/rules.

Rules/Specs -

  • Must have 128gb of RAM (Or a really good reason to have 64gbs)
  • Can have any form factor
  • Any CPU/Motherboard
  • Must be able to support at least 2 GTX TITAN X Graphics cards
  • Must have a PSU that allows for later growth
  • Needs a Blu Ray/CD/DVD Drive
  • $ Limit - $9000
  • Don't worry about monitor, mouse, keyboard or anything else peripheral wise.
  • It is a video editing rig. Build appropriately.

So set price to max and start throwing useless shit in?

No not really, I wanted to see what strong computers could be built with a relatively high price cap. I'm interested to see what video editing rigs could be built :3

So my argument is this:
I chose the Celeron Dual Core because of it's impressive power for the money. With the support of the Titan X's, it can export in 4K in approximately triple the time of an i5. I decided to cheap out on the power supply, I think a 200W will be fine. If the power supply stops working I have an extra car battery I can cram into the case, and an outlet jumper to keep the battery charged. At least it will be quiet. I think the build will do well at video editing.

*please take a joke  :D

It is cheaper to use 2x64gb kits instead of 1x128gb kit? Wow I didn't notice that

Yes, and to think that I was $4000 under the limit. Talk about bang for your buck! Do you think the Titan X's will bottleneck from my powerful Celeron?

Don't really know too much about dual-CPU boards, If I wanted to buy a dual CPU board and then put a second CPU later, can the board run with 1 CPU and 1 kit of RAM?

You know, I have thought about that... I really don't know for sure.  I would guess, yes.

I think when paying this much for a build, the $2.00 is ok xD. But besides that, I love this....
