Okay, so I have $400 USD to work with and I want to upgrade things that I NEED to.

Here are my specs with details:

A Sentey Case (Air that flows out is always warm and some dust filters seem almost inaccessible, making is stupid to clean)

EVGA GTX 770 4GB SC (Reaches 70 quickly, will be replacing TIM later this summer)

i7 2600k @4.0

Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO (Heat fins are a little bent, but keeps my CPU at 60~ on load)

Z68A-D3H-B3 (Took $100 out of my $500 budget because I need to replace this; one of the RAM slots are dead)

EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 750W 80+ Bronze Modular

32GB G. Skill Ripjaws X

1x OCZ Vertex 99GB SSD (I feel like I should upgrade this, because I have my OS and other basic software on it and it has around 8GB free and it's worrying me, but I need a second opinion)

1x Mushkin enhanced 128GB SSD (I want it to hold all of my games, with the biggest ones including Battlefield 4, Titanfall [i know it's dead but I still kinda like it lol] and some others. It seems to be holding up fine for now.) I also want to play Skyrim with an ENB (hints towards GPU) in the near future with a friend.

Now, the upgrades that I definitely want are a 1TB Hard drive ($50), a new motherboard ($100), and 3-4 new case fans ($50). Is it worth upgrading anything else? i.e the CPU cooler, drives, etc. I need some second opinions so I get the most out of this upgrade.

Edit: GTX 770 4GB*
Added more to what games I have/want

CPU: i7 2600k @4.2GHz GPU: GTX 660 Power Supply: EVGA SupernovaNEX 750W 80+ Bronze RAM: 32GB G. Skill Ripjaws X

with 32 GB ram I wouldn't bother changing the board unless you really need that much ram.. and if you need it, you could get a new i7 and board for $400

I don'T PreSS caPs.. I juST Hit THe keYboARd so HarD iT CriTs :P

Definitely get a new hard drive. That's barely any storage space for a computer.

Personally I don't think there's any major reason to upgrade your CPU and motherboard, except for the fact that a RAM slot is dead. How much of your 32GB kit are you able to use?

Also, what is this build used for? Is there any kind of intensive productivity stuff you do?

I actually couldn't underclock my 5 year old GPU to make it as slow as a next-gen console.

My suggestion is that if you have a place for an AIO you should get one and squeeze as much power out of that i7 2600k as you can before replacing the CPU + Mobo. At that point you will probably be fine for a year or two giving you time to get the CPU + Mobo and you will already have an AIO to cool the new CPU. You could grab the HDD, the fans and probably have spare money for you to save up or spend on other improvements.

Upgrade that i7.

I can push it to 4.8 Stable ^-^ I've done it before

I think there's something else wrong with the mobo... things have been kind of glitchy and I ran a memtest and ram seems to be fine

I'm able to use 24GB right now. I use a lot of After Effects, some CAD, and other production stuff. Although not intensive, I am quite the power user.

I'd really rather not buy a new processor as of now x) The 2600k is still very nice

i woad say get i5 4670/90k and some mobo z87/97 mobo like z87pro and maybe get aio to overclock hell ot of cpu gpu is still fine and maybe upgrade to next year 1xxx gpu

Although the Sandy is older, I feel that the hyper threading would still benefit me over a newer i5

What kind of 'glitches' do you experience? And if 24GB is enough for you then don't bother upgrading your motherboard unless you have the money. The 2600k is still a beast of a processor especially when it's overclocked.

GPU could use updating

Within my $400 budget that still needs to be used for other things, I don't think there's a GPU out there that's worth my money as of now. If this was a 2GB 770, then maybe...

Things flicker, USB connect/disconnect sounds play randomly, some softwares stop unexpectedly... I have run memtests and tested other memory as well xP and ikr :) the 2600k will serve me for the next couple years. I've seen what I can push it to :P

It's possible that might just be your windows installation.

Hmmmmmm

Should I invest an mx200 256GB ssd for $100 and do a fresh Windows install?

Yup, and if you do have an issue, OCZ will cross -ship you a drive and pay return postage after troubleshooting with you with no proof of purchase necessary.

OCZ got a bad rep over some early drives when the sandforce controllers had big issues.. but they showed good customer service, now make their own (good) controllers and are owned by a Nand manufacturer to boot so have the cream of their nand.
