Just wanna make sure that if I buy a new PSU, like the Corsair CX 500W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply , that it will work with my prebuilt PC(dell xps 8700).

So to try to clarify I want to upgrade my PC, and once I get a new PSU and GPU for this one, I'm going to start buying/saving for the rest and just remove the two pieces from this computer.

But I want to make sure the PSU will be compatible(Don't  see why it wouldn't) and make sure the GPU will be compatible when i finally get enough.

Thanks.

I think the 600w version of that power supply is only like $10 more or something, which would be nice for upgrade ability

Besides that almost all power supply mounting is universal so it should fit if there is enough clearance, as for the power connectors they will definitely be compatible as every computer has a mobo power and CPU power cable

Name comes from anagramed sticker for "TUF Inside" (A sticker that came with my original ASUS motherboard)

There isn't a problem with the CX500 inside of the dell XPS 8700, the cables may be a bit long so you will have to find places to tuck things away and tie them out however.

I can't find any photos of the back of the damn thing, the only thing to worry about would be space for cables and/or not supporting regular mounting.

EDIT:

It's probably fine, looks like a standard ATX PSU in there.

Thanks everyone, just wanted to make sure, I'll look into it more, but I wanted to make sure it would fit and be compatible.
