I bought it from a UK online store called Very.co.uk I was shocked to see they had it in stock as I didn't think it was going to be released until August I have ordered from them before so I know they are trustworthy so I contacted them to check with them and they said they have a special arrangement with the manufacturer. They said I should receive it by the 27th of June

This in ips 144hz and gsync/freesync with a wide operating range would be my ultimate monitor..

This one was Announced by acer as being 75hz 3440x1440p ips curved ultra wide Gsync the 144hz one is only 2560x1080 unfortunately which isn't enough vertical pixels imo

Im on the edge of ordering either a curved ultrawide/ 1440p or 4k.... I just cant decide! :P

However I have noticed a few issues with ultrawides that included issues with cutscenes in games that dont support that aspect ratio.

I never considered cut scenes I knew a lot of of the title screens and menu screens only filled 16:9 but never really thought about cut scenes, thanks for letting me know that.

So you sure it was not an preorder?

I contacted them twice about it and they said both times it was in stock for delivery by the 27th, will just have to wait and see I guess, hope it's not a mistake they have made

So far I have seen a few issues arise on some games (even some as new as Max Payne 3)

For example here is a cutscene in 16:9 and then ultrawide;

I'd double check the box when you get it to make sure it isn't the freesync version before you go through all the unboxing. Even though it says g-sync on their site. The XR341CK is the freesync version which is supposed to come out mid July and was just confirmed as 75hz by TFTcentral. If by some weird reason it is the XR341CKA version then please let us know the refresh rate, I need to justify spending all my money.

Unfortunately guys I have bad news today I contacted the company again as I noticed they changed the availability of the monitor to Out of Stock which kind of made me worry if I would still get mine by the 27th of June it turns out they had made a mistake and the monitor will not be available till August so for the time being I have cancelled my order as spending that sort of money and having to wait 2 month is too long imo. I'm now also wondering if a 4k monitor would be more suitable as it will have less issues being with res being 16:9 standard

Oh wow that's odd how it make it small in the middle of the screen rather than cutting just the sides off. That cut scene issue is making me have second thoughts on 21:9 now lol maybe 4k or triple 1440p would be a better option :/

Yes now thats the exact predicament im in right now. 1440p or 4K. I am leaning towards the 4K as you can always jump down to 1080p for games that dont support it. 3x1440p would be impossible to drive for gaming imo.

Two 980Ti's should be about on par with 4K gaming the latest games, whats your opinion? :o

I'm leaning towards the Benq BL3201PT it has a lot of the features I require like HDMI is a must for my Blu Ray 5.1 cinema system and Display port for my PC as for resolution If I find some games struggle going down to 1440p is always an option like you said. And where the screen is 32inches watching movies shouldn't be too bad even with black bars for the small amount I watch movies on my PC lol I use my 5.1 cinema system purely for sound to my PC. The lack of gsync is a bit annoying but I can always use Nvidia Adaptive Vsync like I currently do but most of the gsync 4k displays with HDMI and Displayport are TN and I need IPS for content creation. I guess it's just impossible to tick all boxes these days lol perfect monitor for me would be a IPS 4k monitor with Gsync and a setting that allows you to turn it down to 1440p and up the refresh to 100hz :D

I have been trying to decide for 6 months and keep finding the same pro's and cons's for each aspect ratio my opinion is unless 21:9 becomes standard across the board so TV and consoles as well as PC we will always have better optimisation for 16:9

Monitor selection is impossibly hard.  Everything has a trade off.  1440p 144hz IPS Gsync seems to be the sweet spot right now (but very expensive).  Good size, good resolution, awesome specs.

Personally I was leaning toward 21:9 34" IPS Gsync, even with the occasional problems.  Very hard to chose though.

Yep choosing a monitor is the hardest part of a pc to choose, if I didn't need accurate colors I would probably go with the ROG swift (not saying it hasn't got great colors but it is still tn so will suffer yellowish tint to the screen)  and it also only has a displayport unlike the acer predator x34 which is going to have both displayport and a HDMI but gsync only on the displayport. in terms of 144hz I have never tried it so don't know what it is like, I have avoided 144hz in the past because I have heard people say they cant use 60hz again since they switched. :D

I haven't done any gaming on 144hz either, but I did try the ROG Swift at the store and was impressed.  I feel like if you are dropping $1k for a monitor, it needs to be awesome enough to last minimum 5 to 7 years, maybe longer.  In that case, it needs to be high resolution, very large, great colors, very low input lag, and high refresh rate.  60 hz is out of the question.  75 hz is bare minimum.

The ROG Swift is only $1k CAD in Canada :o whaaaat it's like equivalent to $1.2k in GB and my friends don't believe me that Canada is an awesome country p.s I may be British but doesn't stop me having a Canadian flag on my wall with a ton of Ice Hockey Posters lol 60hz is ok but it has to really pack a lot of other useful feature to make up for it imo
