Will my XFX TS 550W power supply support R9 390 8gb? Is it worth getting this over a GTX 970?

I have to say, that atm there arent much 390 benchmarks to be found on the net.

But im pretty sure for 1080p gaming they will be pretty much neck to neck.

It will all depends on the games favorites.

 

For higher resolutions the 390 will be a better choice.

that may be true for some games, but most definitely not for the vast majority.

I haven't found any benchmarks for it yet, so we don't know how much of a difference +1ghz to memory and a bit more memory bandwidth makes to a 290.
