Help needed with adding 2nd hdd

I am having trouble adding a hdd with my main os ssd drive.

 

I went to disk management and tried to add but the online choice is not in the menu.  I followed a online manual.

 

What is the correct way to add the 2nd drive?

Uh, you plug it in, go to disk management if needed and create a partition?

@yoshiii: Does  the drive have power / sata connection?

 

Can you feel it spin?

 

Does the drive show up in the bios?

 

If yes, simply go to disk management and create a partition on that drive.
