if you just have the standard intel cooler that might be it or the thermal paste may have degraded

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Spoiler

i dont know about the thermal paste my pc is bearly like 6months old.

if you have a h100i the liquid may have been slowly dripping/evaporating out of the cooler or you didnt aply enough paste

I have no experience with AIO water coolers, so take my words with an enormous bag of salt, but if it suddenly saw a massive increase in temps without any noticeable signs, I'd consider pump failure to be a possibility.

Hold on OP, so your temperatures increased from 60C, which is what they normally are, to around mid 70s while playing a game? It's possible that it could be due to the fact that it's summer, so ambient temperatures increase, and so do temps inside your computer. That does seem like a bit of an abnormal increase though for ambient temperatures rising so I'd check if the block is screwed on correctly, perhaps check if there's a buildup of dust on your rad, and just do an overall checkup of your AIO.

I actually couldn't underclock my 5 year old GPU to make it as slow as a next-gen console.

as long as you're not over 90 you will NOT do any damage to your CPU unless you run it like that for extended amounts of time.

generally anything below 80 is fine, so you're not in the danger zone.

Is the CPU overclocked?

When in doubt: C4

I did install the windows 10 preview think that might have something to do with it?

how? xD

Leave it still attached to the CPU and turn your system on. Take off the fans because other than the pump, that's the only thing that will make noise other than the GPU. Once you take out the GPU and fans, if you don't hear the pump, then it died.

Your temps shouldn't increase more because of a different OS.

Tbh though, those temps are fine and they won't harm your CPU.

its wierd how it increases when i minimize the window and go to my OS but when i go back it decreases?

Your temps are fine. Don't worry about it.

It happens with AIO's very commonly.

no point you guys saying "oh your temps are fine" no just no..... if you buy an expensive cooler you expect it to perform well, not just start giving you temp increases that high, 60c on bf4 is high enough as it is, i hit 45c on bf4 in a room thats 22c with my r1 ultimate so the h100i should be doing a lot better even with a room temp of 25-30c.
