I am wondering if it is possible to move an 2.5 hard drive from a HP to a Toshiba laptop. And if I need to worry about anything when doing it.

Will work fine if it's physically similar and use the same connectors.

Hey C.G.F.Sabre,

As long as the HDD and the laptop use the same way to connect (SATA, IDE, etc.) the drive should work just fine. If you have doubts, I would suggest contacting the laptop's manufacturer and asking if the drive is compatible with the PC.
You would need to reinstall the OS as well as all the applications and games due to the difference in the hardware, other than that you should be fine. You should be even able to see the rest of the data on the drive's non-formatted partitions after you've installed the OS. :)

no, but it can

if you're really worried, get a good drive mirroring tool and mirror the toshiba onto the new (presumably bigger) drive and you won't have compatibility issues with drivers or anything

Well the problem is that when we put the drive on a usb thing it says there are negative kb.
