Which Laptop?

I'm looking for a new laptop to purchase within the next week, so something thats out now would be the only option. 

Main thing I'm bothered about is the battery life as I need it for a whole day at Uni. My original plan was to get the new MacBook Air 13" as it has a 10 hour battery; I understand that this may not be entirely true but still. With education discount it comes to £1,080 with 8GB ram, i7 and 128GB SSD. So £1,000 is my max price range.

 

Open to all suggestions!

 

Spec:

13 or 14 inch screen

~10 Hour battery (Not bothered if thats by getting an extended batttery, or 2 batteries as long as its within price range)

Preferably Haswell i5 or i7 but not too bothered if its a Ivybridge

8GB RAM

Must have an SSD

Windows or OSX, not bothered

 

I have a beefy desktop so power isn't an issue. Would love to be able to get something with an i3, 8GB, 128GB SSD with a 10 hour battery for ~£700! Doubt one exists though.

I would probably get the air. The build quality is great with the only negative is the display but it's one of the reasons why it gets the massive battery life.

Haha never actually thought of that, brings the price down to £967. Thanks for the suggestion.
