So I still have about 5 months till I have enough money till I can actually get the parts but I was wondering if anyone could compile a parts list for a Gaming, Recording, Video editing rig with the Intel Core i7-5960X as the CPU that would run me about 2,000 but could be upgraded in the future. I can upgrade the RAM or add an SSD or another graphics card later, and include those in the list, but at least build me something to start me off with. Also, I would prefer it to be the Corsair 750D case just so I don't have to worry about that later... Just around 2,000 and 2,250 MAX USD. Thanks in advanced!!!

Of course, but with what else included is the question.

Do not  as I  do, and  not  as I say. Instead do as you may..

So you only have 2250 to spend and you want a 5960x? The cpu and board alone will be $1500. You should just go with 5820k.

There are maybe three mobos for X99 that would run him/her 500 bucks, and you could count on one hand the number over 400.

Do not  as I  do, and  not  as I say. Instead do as you may..

Why is an i7-5960X required?

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

Including the Titan X in this rig over the 980Ti is a grave error. Going for the Titan X is no different than the 5960X.

5960x is the dumbest high tier CPU. The difference in gaming performance between an i5-4690k and an i7-5960x are so marginal for the price difference. It's not worth it at all. Plus, you can get a 4690k to a higher clock speed which makes it great for gaming. And then there's the freaking Titan X sitting in this thing! It's a gaming monster.

Umm please do show me where you can get 5960x /mobo + taxes for under $1500. Did I ever say x99 mobo's were $500? No. Maybe you should learn there's taxes on things.

The TitanX is the dumbest high tier GPU, especially when you can get a 980Ti (same card with a lesser but still well beyond necessary RAM count) for 400 bucks less.

I didn't say 5960X made sense to buy I just stated the TX was the GPU equivalent.

But... But it's a Titan! The single fastest GPU ever created.

Plus, there's no way you're getting a 980 Ti and a 5960x in the same build for under $2000. 980 Ti costs $800, 5960x costs $1000, and an X99 board costs $500.

They used USD as their currency in the post, US sales tax is rather minimal, in my state the sales tax is 5 (5.6 at the highest) percent, which would add just under 60 bucks to the purchase cost.

Why exactly that CPU, and not a 5820 or 5930?

I wanted that CPU because if I was going to spend a lot of money on a computer it may as well be top of the line and I don't want to wait until next spring when I will have three grand so I wanted a system that could be upgraded with that CPU

I think the logic is faulty.

They said 2000 to 2250, OS hasn't been included, and they can easily swap one part out for a more desirable one.

This build is just a general suggestion.

What do you get from having a 5960X vs a 5820K.

Costs 169% more.

Has 33% increase in core count.

I fail to see the return on investment.

Its not that it is a good price for performance CPU. I just wanted the best one and I dont want to have to deal with switching out CPUs later

Who would not be satisfied with a hex core haswell with a overclock and see the big difference of getting 2 extra cores.
