I asked a buddy of mine that helped me build my PC at fry's to help me watercool my system and to look over my parts list+ other stuff.

He had a 680 3-way sli and a 3930k in his system which he had a complete custom loop in, ram/mobo/everything, so I figured he'd be the best one to ask for help.

I sent him my list:

He emailed me back with this:

Part # Product Description Qty Price Total ex-rad-315 XSPC EX240 Dual 120mm Low Profile Split Fin Radiator $49.95 $49.95 ex-rad-317 XSPC EX480 Quad 120mm Low Profile Split Fin Radiator $79.99 $159.98 ex-blc-1066 XSPC X79 Rampage IV Motherboard Water Block Set $109.99 $109.99 ex-blc-1431 XSPC Razor GTX Titan Full Coverage VGA Block - Reference Design

My budget is only like 1100$ (I don't think I mentioned to him about that)

I don't think I need 2 pumps for one, nor do i need a mobo waterblock. I have 110mm of room where I can mount rads, yet he links me 30mm thick ones.  And Static pressure fans are lightyears better than airflow fans AND I already have 4 noctua nf-f12, so I only need a couple more fans for that..

Can someone help me out here? I'm ridiculously confused lol.

The one you have chosen is fine, you don't need two pumps, a motherboard waterblock and if you can't fit the thicker rad you will have to go with a slimmer one. Also, you don't have to have the XSPC products, that is just him being biased towards them. The Bitspower Mod kit is completely optional and you don't need it, it is just for aesthetics. Also, the fans you chose are probably the best fans out there, SP fans are much better for radiators than AF fans.

I don't see why he changed anything in that loop, its perfect.

As you have the special edition pump you don't need a pump top.

Yeah I don't understand.. He told me to stay away from EK products because of the bad rep they got awhile back, but I haven't seen to much on them lately that's bad so IDK.

I don't want to do this myself so IDK what to do..

Ek products are excellent and I think his talking about the nickel problem which was along time ago and is solved.

If you don't want to do this yourself then don't watercool...

If anything goes wrong you are going to be screwed and completely dependent on someone else.

EK fixed their nickel plating issue a few years back.

Solved unless you use some funky coolant.

I can do it myself, but I'd rather have someone there that's done it before.  I've literally watched 1000 videos, and I'm very confident I can do it. I just figured it'd be easier for someone to help me out and give a second opinion on stuff.

I'm gonna say this back to him:

I can't do anything over like 1100$ but I'd like to keep it around 1000$.

I don't think I need 2 pumps especially if the radiators are that thin, I'm not to worried about the motherboard waterblocks so we can scrap that.

Aren't static pressure fans better than airflow fans for radiators? I already have 4 noctua's so I can just get a couple more and we're set for that. From my understanding noctua nf-f12 are the highest performing noise to performance fans on the market:  I had 2 high performance corsair fans that I replaced with noctua nf-f12's and they cool 1 degree warmer with over half the noise & at lower rpm, so I love them to death. Did you mean to put 2 fan controllers? One last question, I have 110mm of space between the top of the case and the motherboard, so would it be better to get a thicker rads since they fit and scrap the 240?

I'm not trying to disagree with anything I'm just trying to understand and learn more, sorry about the price thing as well I forgot to tell you the budget so that's my fault.

No problem, Idk what to do lol, I don't want to tell him to "GTFO" just because I don't want to be rude lol. So idk, I guess I'll just send that message to him and try to be as nice as possible about asking the questions and see what happens from there.

@everyone thanks for your help guys
