Newegg shipping issues...

I ordered a 980ti from newegg and it is shipping from Los Angeles to me in NYC and it departed two days ago from the last location and hasn't updated since, is that normal?

Yes, just be patient.

Yeah it generally only updates when it reaches a facility. So all that it means is that it is still on its way, and hasn't reached a facility if the shipping company

That's pretty strange under normal conditions. Did it get stuck in somewhere like Dallas or Oklahoma City? They have had insane rain there from Tropical Storm Bill, which could have caused delays.

 

Normally they ship graphics cards via UPS Ground or FedEX Ground when you choose free shipping, and do CPUs, RAM, things like that via UPS SmartPost or FedEx SurePost. SmartPost and SurePost are insanely slow horrible shipping methods and it's pretty much guaranteed anything shipping with them will sit in at least one warehouse for two days, but UPS Ground and FedEx Ground are usually much better; they only sit in warehouses on weekends.

That's a good 3,000 miles. Could be that it's on a truck that's been driving for the last two days so there's been nothing to update. I know most truckers for UPS drive three days or something in a trip. 

 

Also, biased opinion but UPS > FedEx

Its on a train, you will see an updated tracking when it gets to nthe building on the east coast
