Chromebook?

Hello all

 

I was considering getting a Chromebook just for browsing the net and watching Netflix/crunchy roll/Twitch on when im in bed since sometimes i dont fancy sitting at my desk and sometimes watching on a mobile just doesn't feel the same... 

I was wondering what your guys thoughts are on the Chromebook.

I would much rather buy a small notebook with windows. Fully functional device.

It's cheap and it's perfect for web browsing etc.

hmm i looked at that, considering all i want to really do is stream, to me it makes more sense getting the acer cb5 chromebook mainly because of the better battery life, other than that specs dont differ much.

On a site for a local UK store i was checking, asus has 8 hours and the acer has 14 hours, Of course take that with a grain of salt since that is what it says on the box, but i think ill go for the Chromebook regardless since the OS is simpler i dont think i need windows for browsing/watching since i already use my desktop for that. (slow windows laptop would really irritate me =p)

Got one love it. enabled developer mode you can install linux that runs along side chromeos then you press shift+cntrl+alt and <- or -> (these are the forward and back buttons that replace f2/f3) and switch between them. You get chromeOS for when you just want to browse and then Linux full desktop for more stuff.

 

Though i have a chrome book and i have to say i can do 99% of my college work on.
