Nvidia Kernel mode driver 353.06 has stopped working.

Colt_0pz

So this has been bugging me for a pretty good while now. my main display keeps crashing because of this error. it would be nice if there was a fix. i already tried guru3d's display driver uninstaller in safe mode but it did not work. any solutions. positive it's a driver issue. downgrading the driver does not help.

If you're downgrading to 352.86 it's a nightmare, it crashed my 970 every 10-20 minutes in Chrome. 350.12 is stable though. Also there is a hotfix 353.12 if you don't mind betas. I haven't tried it though, I'm sticking with 350.12 until we get a stable official driver.

353.12 works okay.  I had one driver crash but that might have been overclock related. (It's been mostly stable, but it's a factor.)

Do you use Chrome with hardware acceleration enabled?

Wait wait wait. I've been seeing all these complaints about Chrome crashing their drivers and whatnot. The only time my GPU crashes is when I play 6 hours or more. Are you guys sure you installed your drivers the clean way? Do you have programs that has a negative impact to other programs when running? Is your overclock stable? Did you tried benchmarking it for 10 hours or more?

oc is fine. it happens almost anytime whether it's chrome, or just the desktop, gta v, etc. my secondary display uses onboard graphics for display output. my main display uses dvi-d from the gpu's display output

There's a better fix.

Go to nvidia control panel --> audio devices and disable all the nvidia crap.

I use driver version 347.88 because all the latest ones gave me a lot of issues. Constant driver crashes, unstable oc's and such. A lot of people on overclock net also reported multiple issues with the latest drivers. 347.88 seem to be working perfectly for me. No crashes at all and the modded bios I use doesn't seem to be having issues with it as well. you can try the same version to see if it fixes your problems.
