Help with launching a java app on mac osx

I am very new to programming, java, and launching java stuff and things

I am trying to launch this "app" http://set.ee/jbe/ on my mac. There is a .bat and .sh file in the folder and I understand it that you would usually use these to launch the program. (On my mac when I launch it, it just says "Error: Could not find or load main class ee.ioc.cs.jbe.browser.BrowserApplication". I heard somewhere that for mac you had to launch it with a .command file. Does anyone know how to do this for mac osx. Thanks in advance.
