Hi. I'm thinking about adding another R9 290x to my system and i will properly need a bigger powersupply, but i'm wondering how big it has to be. pcpartpicker says 873W, so i'm thinking around 1000W. I have also been wondering if my fx 8350 will bottleneck a 290x crossfire setup alot.

I hope you guys can help me, as you have done before.

You can see my setup here http://pcpartpicker.com/p/pkmWLk

8350 is not the best choice to run dual 290X (even overclocked). I think even AMDs suggestion for that CPU is a R9 280X at most.

Core i7 4820K  |  NH-D14 | Rampage IV Extreme | Asus R9 280X DC2T | 8GB G.Skill TridentX | 120GB Samsung 840 | NZXT H440  |  Be quiet! Dark Power Pro 10 650W

LoL, so the only option is to jump up to a 9000 series and he'll need more than a thousand Watts. haha.

BTW, if you ever need to know exactly how much wattage you should have in a PSU...use this website: http://www.extreme.outervision.com/psucalculatorlite.jsp

PC: Intel 10700K, Asus Z490-E Strix, G.Skill Trident Z @ 3200mhz C14, Thermaltake View 71, Custom Water Cooling (EKWB Quantum, 2x 360mm SR1 Radiators, 6 Noctua NF-A12), EVGA GTX1080 ti HydroCopper, Intel 6651TB, Intel 600p 480GB, Windows 10 Pro

Ohh nice, didn't know that one :-)

Anyone have some idea how big a performance drop i would get because af the 8350 vs fx something like a 4790k.

About the PSU right now i think my choice would be a corsair RM1000, which as far as i'm concerned can handle all 1000W on the 12V rail.
